Family-friendly camp

Designed With the Family in Mind.

The family cabins sleep from four to eight people. Each cabin has a main floor and two sleeping lofts. A few larger cabins are available for large or extended families.

 

Meals will be served buffet style in the dining hall; Delicious food with no cooking or clean up for Mom.

User friendly location with the main camp area on flat ground or slight slopes. Wide trails provide easy access throughout the camp.

 

Many organized activities involving the whole family are included during the week’s schedule.

 

 

Respite Without Worry

Brothers having a good time togetherCamp is designed with safety in mind and is free from natural hazards.
Patient counselors will care for your children while in age group activities.

 

Medical Needs

There will be an infirmary in the main lodge to care for first aid needs.
There is a hospital and clinics in the town of Afton, just nine miles north of camp.

 

Making New Friends

Age group programs for children, teens, young adults, and adults will build new relationships while participating in activities together.

 

Families will also participate with other families in large and small group activities. Individuals with Down syndrome seem to share a common love of music. Camp activities will include plenty of music; in age group activities, dances, campfire programs, and stage shows.

 

Friendly, trained counselors and staff will help everyone be involved and have fun.

Why a family camp

The idea and need for a resident camp for individuals and their families was originally conceived in June 1992. Research soon indicated the need for such a program, showing that no other experience of this type was offered anywhere in the world. Learn More

 

Location of Camp

Camp Many Stars is located in beautiful Star Valley, Wyoming, near the town of Afton. You have not seen a true starlit night until you have seen the Milky Way in Star Valley.
